200 Pounds Beauty

Recently I asked some of my social media friends for suggestions on some dramas and movies I must watch. One movie, in particular, caught my eye, 200 Pounds  Beauty. It's the story of  Hanna an overweight phone sex operator and ghost singer for the famous pop star, Ammy who actually lip syncs instead of sing on her own while Hanna sings behind the scenes. Hanna is in love Sung-Jun her director. At his birthday party, Ammy gets under Hanna skin embarrassing her in front of Sung-Jun. Hanna, while crying in the restroom hears Sung Jun telling Ammy that even though they are just using her for her voice she should be nice to Hanna. Distraught, Hanna tries suicide but is stopped by one of her phone sex clients a plastic surgeon who she convinces to give her full body plastic surgery. After surgery and weight loss, Hanna emerges a beautiful slender vixen. With the help of her friend, Jung-Min, Hanna takes on a new identity, Jenny. After auditioning to be Ammy's secret vocalist again, she earns her own recording contract instead from Sang-jun, claiming that she is "all-natural". As the story progresses Hanna begins to lose who she once was and pushes away everyone she loves including her father with mental health issues.
The movie has won several awards including a  Grand Bell Award the Korean equivalent of the American Academy Awards. It is a must watch movie, that I myself should have watched a long time ago. I have no complaints about it its a perfect 10 out of 10.

He  tries to get Qing Pei into trouble, but Qing Pei sees it and resolves every issue. Asian Fashion 101: Japan's Kawaii culture

Kawaii meaning cute, lovable, or adorable is a popular part of Japan's pop culture it refers to clothing, items, humans, nonhumans, object or even food that are charming, vulnerable, shy and childlike. Kawaii aesthetic, has become a prominent aspect of Japanese pop culture, entertainment, clothing, food, toys, personal appearance, and manners.
Types kawaii fashion:

Lolita fashion is a very well-known and recognizable style in Japan. Based on Victorian fashion and the Rococo period, girls mix in their own elements along with gothic style to achieve the porcelain-doll look..The girls who dress in Lolita fashion try to look cute, innocent, and beautiful. This look is achieved with lace, ribbons, bows, ruffles, bloomers, aprons, and ruffled petticoats. Parasols, chunky Mary Jane heels, and Bo Peep collars are also very popular.

Decora is a style that is characterized by wearing lots of "decorations" on oneself. It is considered to be self-decoration. The goal of this fashion is to become as vibrant and characterized as possible. People who take part in this fashion trend wear accessories such as multicolor hair pins, bracelets, rings, necklaces, etc. By adding on multiple layers of accessories on an outfit, the fashion trend tends to have a childlike appearance. It also includes toys and multicolor clothes.

kawaii men, Although kawaii is typically a female-dominated fashion, there are men who decide to partake in this trend. Some men decide to transform themselves into women, more specifically kawaii women. They are able to transform themselves by wearing wigs, false eyelashes, applying makeup, and wearing kawaii female clothing. This is seen predominately in male entertainers, such as Torideta-san, a DJ who transforms himself into a kawaii woman when working at his nightclub.

Who's the One Review

Previously I've written very little reviews on Taiwanese drama so I decided to write about 2 I'm currently watching the first is called Who's the One. Who's the one follows the story of Yan Tie Nan an obese young man who with the help of his first love plastic surgeon Shen Ruo Wei, the toughest exercise regimen, and determination, undergoes a complete transformation to become a handsome and attractive stud. All win back the heart of his runaway bride Pan Qian Qian.
This drama is so different the most makeover dramas I am used to, however, it holds well and is hilarious so it deserves an 8.

Princess Jellyfish Review

I recently stumbled upon a  Japanese movie that I really enjoyed. The movie Princess Jellyfish is about Tsukimi a plain, shy and jellyfish obsessed girl. Who lives her life as a jobless illustrator in Tokyo with roommates who harbor die hard hobbies that solidify their status as hopeless social rejects. The girls live isolation and have a nun like a rule about men in the house however one day after Tsukimi brings home a rescued sea jelly and a fashion queen... who's actually a guy. But when the threat of losing their cozy convent inspires this glamour boy to turn the neurotic entourage into a portrait of success, will Tsukimi take her chance to bloom, or will she end up a hot mess?
I found the story very enjoyable and the characters lovable and give it a 7 out of 10.

Monster Hunt Review

Recently I've realized that China has a rapidly growing entertainment industry.
Chinese cinema was is in, proof of that is a movie I loved watching, Monster Hunt. Monster Hunt is a 2015 Chinese fantasy action comedy adventure film. The film was released in China on 16 July 2015 in 3D and in countries including Malaysia, Singapore, and Korea. Upon release, it became a huge commercial success, breaking numerous box office records, including as the highest-grossing film in China, before The Mermaid took the crown in 2016. It opened in North America on January 22, 2016, in 2D and 3D by FilmRise. A sequel, titled Monster Hunt 2, is scheduled for release in China in 2018. The film takes place in the distant past, where the Human race existed alongside the Monster race. They once shared the world in peace and harmony until the Humans drove the Monsters out from their home, for they sought total dominion over their lands. Recently, a civil war took place in the Monster Realm which resulted in the usurpation of the Monster King's throne from a treacherous minister, who later sought the Monster Queen and her unborn baby, and the Monster Queen fled to the Human Realm. The story begins with Song Tianyin, an unnerved young village mayor who becomes pregnant with the Monster Queen's baby, and he encounters an aspiring Monster-hunter named Huo Xiaolan, and they both embark on an adventure to protect the baby from villains of the Human and Monster worlds alike.
The graphics and special effect are amazing and the story is touching I can't wait for the sequel this year. It deserves a 10 out of 10
